78. Abraham WITMER

In 1841 Abraham Whitmer was living in Fayette Twp., Juniata Co., Pennsylvania,
but in 1842 he moved to Newton Twp., Miami Co., Ohio, where he bought eight
acres and with others laid out the town of Pleasant Hill. He set up a
blacksmith shop and later started a grocery and dry goods store. In 1857 he
traded the store for a farm in Newton Twp., on which he lived until 1863 when
he sold the land and purchased a farm in Loromie Twp., Shelby Co., Ohio.

80. Catharine WITMER

Daniel and Catharine Rohrer were listed in the 1850 census of Chapman Twp.,
Juniata Co., Pennsylvania. He was a clerk. In 1880 Catharine and her four
children were in the Chapman Twp. census.

1860, 1870, 1880, 1900 Chapman, Snyder Co., Pennsylvania Census. In the 1900 census it states that Catherine is a widow and that she has had four children and all four are alive at this time.

time of the 1850 census, but by 1880 he was a farmer in Delaware Twp., Juniata
Co. at that time his grandson George Oliver Leiter, son of his son Lewis, was
living with him.

Barge, the German spelling of Page. In the 1877 atlas of Juniata Co. Abraham's
name is shown in Monroe Twp., just south of the Mennonite meetinghouse.
Elizabeth is buried together with Abraham and his first wife, Anne.

Isaac SHELLENBERGER

In 1837 Isaac was guardian of Jacob Leiter, Martha's brother, but in 1840
Jacob asked for a new guardian since Isaac was about to move to Ohio. In a
brief genealogical record published in Chicago in 1939, it is stated that Isaac
Shellenberger resided in Belvidere, Illinois ("Shellenberger Family and
Genealolgy of John Shellenberger", p. 47).

brother-in-law, but in 1840 Jacob asked for a new guardian since Isaac and
Martha were about to move to Ohio. In 1841, Jacob followed his older brother
John to Seneca Co., Ohio and moved to Fulton Co., Indiana, in 1846.

Jacob was a capenter and a farmer.

98. Abraham WITMER

Abraham farmed the 133 acres he received from the estate of his father. In
1870 he sold a piece of this land to the trustees of St. Paul's Union church
for the erection of a church building. In 1889 Abram and Mary wre living in
Port Treverton, Penn., when they deeded their farm to their son Daniel. After
Abraham;s death his widow, Mary, lived with her son Daniel.
