Daniel ROTH (Rev)

Daniel was a farmer and miller. He likely met Maria as he accompanied his
father to Washington County, Maryland, in church work. For three years, Daniel
and Maria lived on a farm near Chambersburg, Pennsylvania. They moved to
Washington Co., Maryland, in 1848 and settled near Clear Spring. They settled
on part of the large land holdings of Abraham Shupp, Maria's father. The Roths
had two daughters (whose husbands both became Mennonite ministers) and a son,
who though he professed to be a religious man, was not a Mennonite.
