After his marriage to Catherine Shopp, Jacob moved to a small farm of 75 acres that his father owned near the town of Fairview in Cumberland County, Pennsylvania. He lived there for two or three years. In the fall of the last year they lived there he bought a farm of his own near Kingstown, to which they intended to move the following spring. However, in the coming winter he took sick and died at the age of 31 years.

Lawrence Co., Illinois. It further states that Jacob was a pioneer in his
region, having moved to his late home from Butler Co., Ohio in 1839. He was
baptized into the fellowship of the Shiloh Church in 1856, and continued in
this relationship until his remarkably calm and peaceful departure. He left a large family, all of whom, except the youngest child, are members.Birth: Copy of his birth certificate in German.
