Pennsboro Twp., Cumberland Co., in 1795 when they sold (Deed TT-498, Lancaster Co., Pennsylvania) 488 acres to Michael Baughman in Cocalico (now Clay) twp. that had come to Catharine from her mother's estate; after her 1833 death her Bear ch. signed a release (Deed D-6-457, Lancaster Co., Pennsylvania) on mortgage in the estate of their grand

Johannes was left all of his father's land at the time of his death. John
also bought more land in Lot #23 in the Manor of Lowther, known as
"Westmoreland". In fact he bought and sold land all his life. At his death he
owned about 353 acres.

Johannes Shopp of East Pennsboro township died intestate. Letters of
Administration were granted, October 24, 1821 to his sons John Shopp and
Christopher Shopp.

In the Tax records of Franklin County, Pennsylvania it states that Magdalena Shelly is a widow in 1843.


Christian S. SHELLY

The will of Christian Shelly was written on October 1, 1840. In the will he lists his wife and his eight children and their spouses. The will was probated on November 5, 1842 and it then states that Christian is now deceased (FHL Film 0323866, Book E., Page 16).

In the Register of Deeds for Franklin County, Pennsylvania, 1784-1883, it shows that Christian is very active in buying land from 1800 to 1833. In 1834 he sells land to both of his sons, John and Jacob.
