Isaac and Clara lived in Overbrook and Lone Star, Kansas. They then moved to a homestead six miles NE of Pullman, Washington, where seven children were born. In 1900 they moved to Soldier, Idaho, where they lived for four years. Clara died here in 1903. Isaac and the children then returned to Kansas, living in the home of their maternal grandparents, at Overbrook. Isaac later made his home at various times with three married daughters, until his death.
