200. Benjamin LONG
Benjamin at one time owned considerable land in Marietta, Pennsylvania, and
laid it out in building lots. Some of his real estate included the old market
house, in Marietta. This land was purchased from James Ander son by indenture
dated April 1813. He also had purchased from his brothers and sisters the land
in Donegal Twp., which was left to the heirs of Herman Long, his father,
containing 549 acres. In 1828, Benjamin and Mary and their family left
Marietta, Pennsylvania, for the Niagara frontier. Benjamin was one of the three
men who were appointed to organize the town of Tonawanda, New York, and
presided at the first election. In 1830 he organized the first Sunday school
of the First Methodist Episcopal Church of North Tonawanda and he was the first
superintendent of the school.

Martin moved from Donegal to Lemar Twp., Center Co., Pennsylbania, where he
operated a farm. It is also recorded that Martin Long resided in the Nittany
Valley near Mill Hall, above Harrisburg, Penn.Martin had three children, Martin, Martha, and Conrad. It is not clear which
wife was the mother of which children. Conrad was married and had eight
children, Emma married to Solomon Tice, Willila, John, Fannie, Maria, Barbara,
Joseph, Jacob.
